Nuts to Site Traffic! BI, KPIs and SMM Give You the Power of Conversion!

KPI

I’ll just come right out and say it! All key performance indicators (KPIs) that are meant to drive performance (and all KPIs should do just that) must be linked to goal conversion. If they are not, then your metrics are meaningless or you are measuring the wrong thing! Whether you are talking about a click-through-rate (CTR), or unique visitors or the number of followers or time spent on a page or site, it all boils down to conversion goals.

If you are attracting followers who do not buy your type of product or service, if your followers are not in the right demographic profile or geographic location, if they are not ready to buy, your business will not achieve conversion. If you have unique visitors who visit your page or site because of incorrect keyword combinations, their visits will not result in conversion. If you have misleading content or unappealing or poorly presented content or you have chosen the wrong demographic or geographic targets for your products or services, it doesn’t matter how many ‘clicks’ you get – you will not get conversions.

On the Move: Fuel Your Sites with Responsive Web Design and Adaptive Web Design

RWD1

When you consider the portability of technology in today’s world, it may seem as if mobile access has been with us forever. Not so long ago, mobile access was limited to pagers and ‘car phones’ that fit in a suitcase. While we are very comfortable with the access provided by smart phones and tablets, the technology of mobile access is changing every day. For businesses, this ever-changing landscape of devices, applications and social interaction can be confusing. The changes in technology do not stop long enough to give a business the chance to catch up. Consequently, it is imperative that businesses look at Responsive Web Design (RWD) and Adaptive Web Design (AWD) to provide the kind of access a customer or prospect expects. If you want to sell your products and services in a world of mobile access, you must make your sites and applications suitable for diverse size screen and devices. It is too expensive and time consuming to build and maintain multiple site versions, or numerous upgrades, migrations or site maintenance requirements.

Get Rid of the Mud and the Snails and Get Results with Integrated BI

Business Intelligence

Information can move at the speed of light or at a snail’s pace within an organization, and that information can be as crystal-clear as a mountain stream or as muddy as a country field after a rainstorm. The quality and speed of your data depends greatly on the business intelligence solution you choose and the decisions you make regarding deployment, training and implementation. Statistics show that the enterprise that implements BI and makes it mobile and accessible to every user in the organization will be more successful in user adoption, and in leveraging its enterprise data to make concise, confident decisions and improve business results.Getting the right information at the right time, in the right form is essential to every business and every business user. Once an enterprise begins to feel the pinch of growing data volume and finds itself losing track of crucial information or struggling to make sense of its data, it often realizes the need for a business intelligence solution.

WordPress is Not a Slam-Dunk! Pay Attention to Design and Planning and You Will Succeed!

WordPress 4.0 and Beyond

It is estimated that the WordPress framework is used in nearly 25% of the top ten million websites in the world. In February of 2014, it was reported that WordPress version 3.8 had been already been download by more than 20 million users. With its plug-in architecture and a popular template system, WordPress has become one of the most popular frameworks for small to medium businesses (SMEs) and specifically for Content Management Systems (CMS) and sites. While the free, professionally designed templates provide a great start for a business site, like most other technology projects, a WordPress project should not be considered a slam-dunk! If a business intends to use a WordPress site to attract and retain customers, it must consider and attend to a CMS WordPress implementation with the same attention to detail as any other technology or software project.

Let’s Get This Straight: Software Product Development Isn’t The Same As Application Development

PDMS

The difference between Application Development, Maintenance and Support (ADMS) and Product Development, Maintenance and Support (PDMS) is not always obvious to businesses. But if an enterprise is considering a software product launch, it is imperative that the management team understands that difference! Employing ADMS skills and resources to complete a PDMS project is very likely to result in project failure. The investment and time required to conceive, design and develop a software product is significant, and it can be overwhelming. The software product development and design process includes competitive analysis, technical feasibility, product roadmap management and implementation and timely upgrades of the product to satisfy the ever-changing user and technology needs. If your business wants to successfully create and launch a software product, the project must be managed with optimum standards of software engineering and it must comply with the business plan and financial projections for the product. Software Products Development must include state-of-the-art software engineering practices, appropriate technical architecture, versioning control, detailed technical and user documentation and high development and quality standards.

Content First, and Mobile First: How To Factor Them Into Responsive or Adaptive Web Design

RWD

If your enterprise is considering Responsive Web Design (RWD) or Adaptive Web Design (AWD), it is important to understand that the decision process does not end with RWD and AWD. To successfully design, develop, configure, integrate and implement a flexible web design, the business must also consider the questions related to ‘Content First’ and ‘Mobile First’.’Content First’ and ‘Mobile First’ methodologies are designed to put the emphasis on content prioritization, and to ensure that important information reaches the users, no matter what device they are using. These methodologies are often part of a responsive design strategy, and reflect an approach that allows the enterprise to display important business information to users quickly and with established priorities. If the navigation menu or company message is not clear or if it does not load fast on a smart phone the business may lose clients, customer trust, credibility and revenue. Having a content first strategy will help the enterprise to establish and sustain trust by respecting the user’s time and attention.
