Elegant MicroWeb worked with a UK eConsulting, Market Research business to design a web-based widget to measure customer satisfaction and increase customer loyalty. Customers were asked just one question and the responses were analyzed to enhance and improve products and services offered by the organization over the period. In order to meet business objectives the widget had to be easy to configure, and easy to promote and use to obtain maximum responses. Personalized emails were sent, with a unique URL so the users could respond without the need to register. Feedback request could be offered via various web channels.

Elegant MicroWeb analyzed requirements, and designed and built a widget to allow customer managers to create just one question – loyalty question. Once a question is created, customer manager (administrator) can select respondents, design personalized email and rating scale for participant response. Response tracking processes allowed the business to follow-up non respondents and track responses. App also included response analysis and categorization to measure customer loyalty index over the period of time.

Case Study: Integrated Online Volusion eCommerce Site for US Clothing and Footware Co.

A U.S. casual clothing and footwear superstore engaged Elegant MicroWeb to help them design their website using the Volusion eCommerce framework. The client wished to provide its customers with an intuitive, secured, hassle-free online shopping experience in which to browse and shop for apparel, clothing accessories, swimwear and footwear.

The challenge was to effectively address all integration, development and customization requirements within the Volusion framework and provide a third party tax calculation tool and all required integration. This was, perhaps, the first project of its kind world-wide that would incorporate all these unique, detailed requirements into one Volusion eCommerce solution. The Elegant MicroWeb team developed product related APIs to import products for add/update/delete functionality, and to export orders. The team also designed a complex XML integration of the Volusion framework for product management, product categories and product options, and product fulfillment, as well as integrating Pro-Mail and Carhartt and a third-party tax calculation tool to compute taxes based on state, category and products.

Another classic example of passion turned to profession… Shopify was actually Snowdevil which was an online store for snowboarding equipment found by three friends; Tobias/Daniel/Scott in 2004 at Canada.

The inadequate features provided by then existing e-commerce products in market forced Tobias to build his own solution for Snowdevil. He used the open source web application framework of Ruby on Rails to build the online store for Snowdevil venture after just two months of development. This platform was launched as Shopify in 2006.
